Fans invited to celebrate with No. 78 Bass Pro Shops/TRACKER Boats team during free special autograph session on Monday, December 18

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – 2017 NASCAR Monster Energy Cup Series champion Martin Truex Jr. and his No. 78 team will take a victory lap through the Ozarks next week to celebrate their historic championship season when they greet fans in Springfield, Missouri, hometown of the team’s primary sponsor Bass Pro Shops.

Fans are invited to visit Bass Pro Shops National Headquarters on Monday, December 18 from 3-6 p.m. CST to meet Martin and the No. 78 team for a free autograph session. Martin’s 2017 Cup Series championship trophy and winning race car, which he drove to his eighth and championship-clinching victory last month at Homestead-Miami Speedway, will also be on display for fans as part of the celebration.

Fans can pick up a free wristband to guarantee an autograph with Martin Truex Jr. and the No. 78 team. 250 wristbands will be available on a first-come, first-served basis at the Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World entrance on December 18 starting at 7 a.m. CST. Fans who do not secure a wristband can still enter the autograph line for a chance to meet Martin and the No. 78 team as time allows. Autographs are limited to one per fan.

Martin Truex Jr. captured his first career NASCAR Cup Series Championship after finishing the season with a first-place finish at Homestead-Miami Speedway last month. Martin’s eighth victory in 2017 capped off a spectacular championship season where the No. 78 team led the Cup Series in many statistical categories including wins, top five finishes, top 10 finishes, laps led, fastest laps run, miles led and stage wins.

Bass Pro Shops and founder/CEO Johnny Morris have a long and passionate history in NASCAR and with Martin Truex Jr. In addition to serving as Martin’s first NASCAR sponsor, Bass Pro Shops and TRACKER Boats sponsored his back-to-back XFINITY championship seasons in 2004 and 2005. Bass Pro Shops recently announced it will continue sponsoring Martin and the No. 78 Furniture Row Racing team during the 2018 NASCAR season.
